Here's another from the archive: promotional profile pics for Torn Ticket II's production of the musical Assassins in March 2018. We were going for varying shades of 'deranged' with these, hence the facial expressions.
I shot some portraits with actress and model Alyssia Johnson for her resume. We used stand lights, but the white background is just my apartment wall and the black background is the flag side of a five-sided reflector.
Arkadiy and I met on Craigslist -- he'd done some modeling in Russia and wanted to get some headshots and model in the US, and I wanted to practice three-point lighting, so we teamed up to take these pictures.
Torn Ticket II put on a production of Pippin last semester and I did both promo pictures and photo call for them! The show had heavy uplighting and weird, creepy characters, so we tried to make that come through in the promo pictures.
